"It is not enough to have a good mind; the main thing is to use it well," René Descartes. It is not enough to attempt to understand thoughts, behaviors, and interaction of people of others and ourselves; we are bound to apply that information to better society. Research is the necessary link in between the philosophical roots of Psychology and Sociology and the applied contributions of the fields that allows us to make a difference.

Whether you seek to learn more about mental illness, the way humans think, the relationship of human beings and society, or how to help your fellow human beings, The Department of Behavioral Sciences offers a wide range learning opportunities. Each field within the department provides unique insight into how and why humans do the things they do. There is something for everyone in Behavioral Sciences.

Within our department, we have well trained faculty with a wide variety of expertise. We offer the same courses as the major institutions, but within a more intimate setting. Through our undergraduate training experience, many of our students move on to graduate school in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or a closely related field.

Let us help you make a difference in the world.

    Interim Chairperson, Behavioral Sciences
